Welcome to PS 88Q

The Student Welcoming Committee at PS 88Q is dedicated to creating a warm and inclusive environment for all new students, from 3K to grade 5. As ambassadors of our school, these committee members play a vital role in ensuring that newcomers feel welcomed, supported, and connected from their very first day.

Members of the Student Welcoming Committee are carefully selected to pair with new students, offering guidance and friendship to help them adjust to their new surroundings. These pairings are thoughtfully arranged not only by grade but also by home language, ensuring that every new student has a buddy who can communicate with them comfortably and help bridge any language barriers.

The committee’s responsibilities include giving school tours, introducing new students to classmates and teachers, and providing ongoing support to help them navigate their new school environment.
