Out of 200 schools that applied for the 2014-2015 Disney Grant, the P.S. 88 family is so proud to announce that we were one of the five schools awarded. This grant provides P.S. 88 the opportunity to partner with Disney artists in working towards putting on a Spring Production of a Disney musical. The artists will work with the P.S. 88 community to help sustain the production of a musical next year and for years to come!
The Kupferberg Center for the Arts at Queens College, Cultural After School Adventures (CASA), has awarded this grant to the P.S. 88 community by Councilmember Elizabeth Crowley. The CASA program partners schools with cultural groups and institutions to provide arts enrichment. This year, 2014-2015, 40 kindergarteners were chosen to participate in this afterschool arts program twice a week for 10 weeks.
The P.S. 88 family thanks Ms. Crowley for this chance to partner with The Queens College CASA program. Through this amazing opportunity, we are able to provide education that goes beyond the classroom and will give the students solid foundations that they will carry with them into adulthood.
