I cannot believe that 2018 is already upon us. I hope that everyone had a happy and healthy New Year! Here are some key dates to note for this month:
January 15th –School’s closed ( Martin Luther King Jr.Day)
January 29th –SLT meeting 3:45pm
As the New Year begins, some of us have made many different New Year’s resolutions. My resolution is to make more time to “unplug” from my daily devices. This year we read the book Doug Unplugged by Dan Yacciano. It is about a robot that discovers the world, not through the lens of a device but by actual interactions. If you are not familiar with the book, please make the time to read it with your child. It would be a wonderful opportunity to put down the devices and spend valuable time with your child.
January 15th there is no school in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Martin Luther King, Jr. (January 15, 1929 – April 4, 1968) was an American pastor, activist, humanitarian, and leader in the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He is best known for his role in the advancement of civil rights using nonviolent civil disobedience based on his Christian beliefs.
